The Sweater Dress

With fall in full swing, and winter not far behind. A sweater dress is a must have in every lady wardrobe. Sweater dresses also called a jumper dress or knit dress is flatter on almost any body type. A sweater dress worn with a pair of textured tights, or over the knee socks is the trend to watch, and wear!

I think sweater dresses are appropriate for all occasions lazy days at home, running errands, to work, or even red carpet events. The secret is to accessorizing for at occasion, for the simplest sweater dress add a scarf with a bright color, or print detail to take away from the plainness.

Shorts with Tights

One of the biggest fashion trends this season has been wearing tights under shorts. Shorts and tights isn't the easiest look to pull off.
Here below are some styling ideas to pass on that can help anyone work this look!

1. Keep it simple.
If you’re worried about shorts-with-tights combo coming off to trending, you can’t go wrong with classic tweed shorts and simple black tights. You can do this look anywhere from the office to the street. It’s appropriate for almost any occasion if combined with the right jewelry, blouse, and a pair of booties.

2. Know your shape.
 The best thing about shorts with tights is that it works for any body type. If you’re on the curvy side, consider wearing loose, flowy shorts. If you have short legs, pick a pair with a three to five-inch inseam, then add heels to make your legs look endless. If you’re tall but are worried your legs look too thin, try roll-up jean shorts to get maximum usage from your long legs and add an illusion of curviness.

3. The top.
Oversized sweaters has made its way back into fashion and they work really well with shorts and tights. Blazers also look great with this style, and a blazer is a simple way to dress up what might have otherwise been a casual outfit. For a edgy look wear a military style jacket and thigh-high tights.

 

 

 

4. Most important Break all the rules!
Didn’t someone say the first rule of fashion is that there are no rules?
There’s no carbon copy way of pulling off this look. You know your body and at the end of the day you make the decision. Have fun!

Grunge Is Back.

Grunge. 
The 90s-era trend that's rooted in Nirvana’s punk vibe and brings flannel out of the woodwork's. At its infancy designer Jean Paul Gaultier described it as, “Nothing more than the way we dress when we have no money”, but we all know grunge amounted to much more than that. It’s a raw look that simultaneously took over the scene all while being anti-fashion. What goes around comes around, as they say, and a decade later…grunge is back.

My vote: It’s a do, if you do it right. I won't do the 90's fit denim and greasy hair, but there are definite ways to embrace the look.
